Patriotism is civic involvement. Helping others. Tolerance for those you don’t know or understand. Acknowledging the past successes AND failures of our country. Committing yourself to righting the wrongs. THAT is patriotism. Not some bs divinely inspired racist and xenophobic self riotousness.

American patriotism isn’t a blind love.

American Patriotism is a learned respect for those borne into a world they fought to make better. And a commitment to join them in the fight for a more equal, just, and free world.

Your patriotism should not measured by your adoration for the past, but by your dedication to our future.

It should be measured by your hope and tolerance. And your optimism and knowledge for what our country was, what it is and what it can be.

Capitalism is not, on its own, an economic system that sustains itself. It is a economic process that, if unchecked, ends in monopoly. That's why I'm an Elizabeth Warren Democrat. I believe in a "well-regulated" market that prevents monopoly & fosters competition in perpetuity.

Having a certain level of market dominance coupled with certain intel means when you act in a certain way, you ARE price-fixing. That's one reason why we break up monopolies (and should break up duopolies). Competition is good and industry consolidation is antithetical to competition.

I wonder what impact RTO mandates (as a % of working pop) has had on this.

You can think that transit SHOULD be “free” for riders. Okay. But not paying your (legally required!) fare during a budget deficit doesn’t advance the goal of free transit. It results in service cuts for the people you claim to care about. This is wild, regressive, and illegal.
