With the @greenparty.org.uk failing to offer any cut-through leadership, the left needs a new answer to halting the UK’s slide into Farageism. Mick Lynch is the kind of leader who could do it. @owenjones84.bsky.social hits the nail on the head.

Labour's cuts to sick and disabled people's benefits will save £5bn.

A 2% wealth tax on those with assets of over £10mn would bring in £24bn.

These cuts are both cruel and unnecessary.

Over half of Green voters in 2024 didn’t know who Carla Denyer was. 86% couldn’t identify Adrian Ramsay.

Totally agree with this piece by Joe Todd for @novaramedia.com - time for a new populist leader!

Ash has got this absolutely right. Hyper-focusing on identity politics is divisive and a huge strategic mistake that continues to box the left in to a smaller and smaller corner.

We’re often astounded by the confidence some people speak with on the issue of a 4-day week when they haven’t got the first clue about it.

Read one set of trial results. Take a quick look at the positive outcomes from South Cambs Council’s pilot. We dare you.
Pensions minister Emma Reynolds tells Times Radio civil servants won't get a four-day week. Asked why not, she replies: "Because we're not living in the 1970s."

Told it could save gov £21.4m per year, she says: "I don’t believe them. I'm giving you some very clear answers."
