Having revisited FIRST BLOOD, I'll be thinking about this silhouette shot for the rest of the week—

#ROBOCOP is remembered for many things, but in #filmmaking terms it plays like a masterclass in shot composition and staging, particularly using depth for relationship dynamics.

David Lynch’s ERASERHEAD was such an enigmatic inspiration at NYU when I was a film student, not so much for what the film was, but for how it was made - with determination, by a young upstart director, on nights and weekends, over a long period of time. Few approaches capture the 90s NYU vibe more…

Only took me like 30 years to see this, but TETSUO: The Iron Man is one bold, crazy #film. Huge inspirations from #DavidLynch and #Cronenberg. Clearly a forerunner to the banned #NIN video from
John Reiss with Bob Flanagan. It’s sorta Japan’s #EvilDead moment. Whoa. #filmsky

Apparently only 99 other people on Earth listened to John Carpenter and also the Elm Street score more than I did in 2024 #horror
