Lol - his dad wouldn't approve, though

At first look, I thought PP clanged it off the backboard... But he hit the front of the rim. Does the clock start when it hits rim? Or is it when a player touches? I thought it started when touched. Either way, I think that Embbid shot is what you are conceding.

Lol - yeah, you definitely wouldn't want that to be the result.

Marcus Smart was maybe the best "intentionally miss" FT shooter I've seen.

Sounds right - an intentional missed FT when you are down and need an OREB vs ahead and want to kill time...

I'd trust PP to do it right either way.

Interesting - didn't consider the possibility of missing badly enough that Pritchard doesn't hit the rim.

There was a lot of strategy wrapped up in that 1.6 seconds.

Need to listen...

Slightly different scenario they were up 3, but basically you risk this type of shot going in....

I think you would probably not crash very hard for the rebound, to eliminate the chance of a foul. But a long rebound that is secured... game over.

Yeah, I think if Pritchard missed the first FT, my philophy would be to miss the 2nd intentionally. But making both is probably the safest play.

Yep, it worked out - and worst case (if you don't foul) is OT. I just find that bit of coaching philosophy interesting.

It's a good question. I can think of several game-tying or winning plays off of an inbounds/low clock.

I don't think I've ever seen a fullcourt heave off of a missed FT win a game in NBA. Although I did see Embiid hit the rim once in this exact scenario.

Right now, it seems there's a push to see who can take on bigger roles...

But, maybe it's ok if you can't. Maybe Hauser can't. He plays a specific role about as well as anyone in the league. And they'll still need that role filled when it's contender-time.

The Semi Ojeleye defense - without the muscles.

Was just looking at his numbers. He's too good of a shooter to stay in a slump. But his best asset may be the ability to play off of Tatum/Brown - which is not the situation right now.

Thanks for sharing this - a good perspective.
