So What

Another still life. As you may have noticed, my favorite genres are Fine art architecture, trees and still life. In that order.

One of my concepts in architectural photography is to approach what I call the Max. Point of Perspective: getting as close as possible to an object with the lens shifted to its max. position while keeping verticals straight. The purpose is distortion and use of functional space

“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.”

I'm now here for around 5 days and I think I like it, especially compared to Twitter/X. Still missing various essential things here and there's also some doubt on which I will elaborate in the future. Or maybe not.

Up-close shot with a TS lens shifted up. In the comments section you see the image taken with an iPhone, with the widest angle and you can see it looks totally different. Getting close with a wide angle TS lens changes the perspective entirely

To me Fine art photography, is the expression of a lived internal subjective experience. If it’s authentic, it is always true and cannot be subjected to any external criticism.

Zeeland bridge.
A seascape for a change. I took this with a prototype of the Phase One Achromatic in 2017 to test the camera for them. The quality is amazing, also due to the lack of a Bayer color filter. I had to return the camera, unfortunately. Processed with the Artisan Pro panel.

I am so excited about the migration from X that I made a whole YouTube video about what it takes to run a social media company in a responsible way.
Don't worry, I will be back to covering the normal topics and the war in Ukraine next time.

Fine art architectural photography
Fine art: expresses the subjective experience of the artist. Architecture photography: celebrates the architectural design. Fine art architecture celebrates the architectural design while also serving as a symbol for the artistic expression

I took this one while teaching a workshop in NYC, demonstrating you could capture the building from across the street, using a wide-angle tilt shift lens, shifted all the way up. Soon announcing another workshop.
