In Ireland it’s a recommendation to carry your passport and other immigration documents with you at all times in some states and to call the Embassy if you get picked up.
Sadly there also needs to be advice for transgender people whose passports don’t match their birth gender and can be declined

I have, in a funny way. I was in a chain restaurant last night in Dublin and the bathrooms were marked M and F. The problem is that in Irish Gaelic (gaelige), the official 1st language of Ireland, ‘Men’ translates as ‘Fir’ and ‘Women’ is ‘mná’. Different language, different restroom. Take your pick!
