Gary Oldman and Tim Roth really are quite good in this.

And so, tonight's film.

Went to Lichfield today for a soggy but atmospheric walk on part of the disused South Staffordshire Railway.

Still thrills me that The Duckworth Lewis Method toured in 2013. Won't see that again!

And so it's time for another Ashes series. The England squad is full of talent but they really need to make the most of it now. Anyway, time to listen to The Duckworth Lewis Method.

This arrived today. 9 films by Nagisa Oshima. More works I've read about but not yet had the chance to watch. Bring it.

Always good to see the brief appearance of Sandy in the 2nd Doctor Who movie (caught Talking Pictures at the right time).

Last night's film, AWAKENING OF THE BEAST. Another Coffin Joe anthology, exploring the causes of perversion in a meta way. The bonkers hellish sequences are again a highlight.

Bit of Michael Moorcock is always appreciated.

Watching the Hawkwind dvd of The Chronicle of the Black Sword. A bit odd even by their standards

Last night's film was THE STRANGE WORLD OF COFFIN JOE. Featuring some creepy sisters and the creepiest balloon seller.

I wimped out and got the 2 cd edition of the new Dylan bootleg series volume. Sorry Bob!

Found my father's Hawkwind tour programmes!

Back in Croatia to start clearing out my dad's place. I bet there aren't many of these in Dalmatia.

Last night's film, THIS NIGHT I'LL POSSESS YOUR CORPSE. The 2nd Coffin Joe film; it's bigger, badder, and better than the 1st. More gothic horror with a hint of Frankenstein. The depiction of hell is amazing.
October 19, 2025 at 10:58 AM
The first film, AT MIDNIGHT I'LL TAKE YOUR SOUL, is a fairly conventional horror. Coffin Joe is a nihilistic murderer in a small town. I think the next film gets weirder.

Starting on the Coffin Joe boxset tonight. A genuine icon of Brazilian horror cinema. I'm intrigued by what I've read about these films but we'll see...

15 years ago today I took this screenshot because I was enthused about a frost. Madness.

A beautiful film about an unhappy America. Full of sequences with stunning landscapes but nothing tops the finale.

Tonight's film. How I've got this far, with my taste in film and music, and not seen it is beyond me.

There are loads of box sets and reissues coming out in the run up to Christmas so as a middle aged man I'll obviously be buying lots of them. First up, this grunge compilation on Cherry Red. Staving off the jet lag at the moment.
