I'm desperate to work in conservation again but apart from how hard it is to get the jobs at these orgs, a big part of me just doesn't want to. So much waste of resource, energy and enthusiasm of staff. And leaders on big wages but no courage. A prime example of the great failure of our times.

Applied for an RSPB job recently. They had me write something claiming a big win with those amendments. Didn't get the job. But I read some Glassdoor reviews and they reminded me of when I worked at the CBI. Top heavy wage structures (RSPB CEO on more than the PM). Poor managers. Overworked staff.
