The Liberty's top 5 is going to insane in '25, if Stewart and Ionescu are truly healthy. Cloud's a clear upgrade from Vandersloot, Fiebach is going to be even better in her 2nd season in the W, and Jones is as awesome as ever. The Fever may be the future in the East, but the Liberty are the present.
NEWS: The Liberty are acquiring Natasha Cloud from the Sun for the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and New York’s 2026 future first-round pick, the team announced.

Not only is Rebel Fury by @markherman54.bsky.social and published by @gmtgames.bsky.social an amazing game, but it's now available on Steam to go along with the original physical game and its really good Vassal digital implementation. There's no excuse for me not to play this all the time now!

My first attempt at a FDM printed mini, a ~1" tall Grumpus from @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social. For a stock nozzle and only slightly modified settings on my Anycubic printer, it's not that bad. The only real issue was I snapped off the pistol in the right hand when removing the supports.

Alternatively, a Levy and Campaign style game a la @volko.bsky.social and @gmtgames.bsky.social based on animal dominance hierarchy would be kind of cool also. COIN of course would be an optionsystem since Root is already mechanically adjacent to it.
It looks like artwork for a Great Battles of History expansion of the board game Root. @colewehrle.bsky.social, @markherman54.bsky.social, @leder.games, and @gmtgames.bsky.social need to make this mashup happen!

First (board) war game acquisition of 2025, a modern tactical game from @nutspublishing.bsky.social originally designed as a teaching tool for the French military. I've moved away from this genre for physical games over the last couple of years, but this looked interesting enough to give a try.

On my third play though of Ligny from Compass's Napoleon's Eagles: The Hundred Days, and I have to say I'm finding this to be a very engaging and thematic lightweight, quick game. I love La Bat, but late in the evening after a busy day at work, base 6 math is too much.

My latest PnP build is of the free solo fantasy game Shadows Upon Lassadar. Thematically, it's pretty far from my usual historical and sports games. But an 11 year old old positive review from Space Biff and the the awesome art drew me in. Plus, it's time I branched out to something new!

Here's the setup for the Quatre Bras scenario from Napoleon's Eagles by Compass that I picked up over the weekend. It's not unlike a chromed-up, diceless variation of Table Battles, forcing you think about the tactical situation at a higher, more abstract level than traditional takes on the topic.

In addition to consistently putting out awesome games, one of the best things about @hollandspiele.bsky.social is their commitment to making most of their games available for print and play. That really comes in handy when you somehow misplace a game but really want to play it again!

I played a lot of Rebel Fury by @gmtgames.bsky.social this weekend at Compass Games Expo and with friends farther afield on Vassal. Here's the orderly beginning and mess of an ending to a particularly chaotic Chickamauga scenario.
