Happy to see Bryce’s performance tonight. A reminder that Phillies should make big moves this deadline.
July 19, 2025 at 7:56 AM
The Phillies cannot let the outfield struggles continue. This team, clearly, is too talented to not make a move at the deadline. Yet, the box score quite quickly reveals a severe dearth at outfield. In is in the bottom 10 on production in the league.

My wife is an Auburn grad so I had the pleasure of watching Broome rather closely. High character guy and very pleased to have him in the Sixers. As the article points out, character is clearly a priority now. A nice change from James Harden in Philly

At least we know now. If the NBA and Adam Silver had never stuck their hands in The Process, we’d have a championship now. The Thunder are lucky they don’t generate enough revenue for the league.

Since we’re all doing Top 11 active Philly athletes, and we’re not defining what “top” means, here is my list:

1. Bryce Harper
2. Jalen Hurts
3. Joel Embiid
4. Lane Johnson
5. Zack Wheeler
6. Saquon Barkley
7. Kyle Schwarber
8. Devonta Smith
9. Jordan Mailata
10. AJ Brown
11. Tyrese Maxey

The draft starts at #3 with the Sixers. Reminiscent of the last time they selected #3 overall, selecting Joel Embiid. Assuming that the Sixers do not make a move up to #2 overall to select Dylan Harper, ESPN has them selecting VJ Edgecombe.

I am AJ’s biggest fan. I also think he is a top 3 wide receiver in the league. However, I think PFF’s reasoning for the top spot falls a bit flat. Yes AJ is great when in single coverage. What Justin Jefferson does outside those parameters is what makes him top

The unfortunate reality is that this season will likely be more break than make for Sydney Brown. In a recent media availability, Fangio said they are looking at Cooper DeJean at safety in base defense. It’s hard not to see the writing on the wall.

I told my wife at the beginning of the Phillies’ season that the Eagles’ Super Bowl win gave the Phillies amnesty until early June…it is time to rage.

Dave Dombrowski has some work to do. The lineup lacks bite from the right side and the bullpen is so obviously shorthanded. Having to go bullpen game is malpractice given the starting pitchers in this organization. Who better to bring up Painter against than the Pirates? It worked for Abel.
June 7, 2025 at 6:55 AM
After Luzardo’s last start, my concern was the Phillies killed his confidence. I understood the need to have the starters player deeper into games. Without Alvarado, the Phillies bullpen is just simply shorthanded. They were playing a dangerous game.

Poor defensive inning from the Phillies. Weston mis-tracked the ball in left and Turner fumbled the double play. Also didn’t help that the ump missed three strike calls in a row for Kerkering.

The Alvarado suspension is unique in that the Phillies already needed bullpen help, in the form of a right-handed arm with velocity. Now, the Phillies are down to essentially 2 lefties. To address it the Phillies have questions to answer. 🧵
