4k edition of Shin Godzilla arrived the other day. The texture on the slipcase was a nice detail. This is easily my favorite version of Godzilla, and all the transformations of the character are each unique, and terrifying.

Tales from the Crypt (the first 3 seasons, and most of 4 & 5) was some of the best tv of the '90s. A murderer's row of directors. Tons of extraordinary actors, and recognizable character actors. Incredible makeup/effects work. Just the best. Cutting Cards, and Yellow are 2 of my favorite episodes.

Um... this is an unbelievable Kamen Rider piece. The way Victor handled the gloves, without a holding line, but relying only on the wrinkles within, is a really nice touch.

Messed with the Juggernaut pencils a little more. Beefed up the arm a bit. Gave volume to the arm bands by showing an additional plane. Added the debris. Might add some more. Who knows?

Just did another rewatch of "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight" (1995, now streaming on Shudder), which I LOVE. I got to the end, like, after the credits, and thought: is this the first movie to have a post-credits scene? I have to imagine it's happened before, but probably only a few instances

All done. Doc Robot, from Mega Man III. Drawn on 9" x 12" bristol board. Ink, white paint/washes, white paint pen, and a sheet of gradient screen tone, with some highlights scratched out. Start to finish progress shots in comments.

Ok. I think I'm done with the inks. I'll make another post with the process pics. I imagined the MM2 weapons as almost holograms. So I inked them, and then did several thin washes of white paint over them. This is something that would benefit from a talented colorist. Might add screen tones, too.

More progress. White paint splatter before I do the MM2 weapon effects. I had a couple large drops of watery paint land, unintentionally. But I quickly dabbed them with a paper towel, and noticed it made an ALMOST "lens flare" look. So I repeated it a few times. Old Joe wouldn't have tried that.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! I've been on such a Japanese jazz fusion kick the past couple years. Ever since I learned that the genre was a big inspiration for video game soundtracks of the '80s and '90s. Casiopea, TSquare, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Masayoshi Takanaka, etc
