Masters of Cinema once again putting German home video labels to shame with this box set that has no equivalent in the films‘ country of origin. Thank you @craigimann.bsky.social !

Kinji Fukasaku‘s Message from Space is much maligned, but here are the protagonists trying to catch space fireflies. They move about by way of breaststrokes and they’re not wearing a protective suit and the composition of the frame is best described as maximalist. How could this be a bad film?

Gene Hackman: the flops. At one point, Spielberg was to shoot this one. Really looking forward to this.

Feeling nostalgic for 2015: now that Pebble is back as an open source project, I felt compelled to get a Pebble Time Steel off eBay for cheap. (I have an OG Pebble in a drawer, but it won’t take a charge anymore) Such an elegant, minimalist OS. Gorgeously pixelated epaper display. #pebble #repebble

The grimness of Ice Cream Man isn’t always palatable to me, but there’s no doubt that this is one of the most important mainstream comics of recent years. That first chapter in this volume, with its open rejection of Grant Morrison‘s optimism, is quite something. As is Morrison coming out as a fan.
