Visited Derby Museums this afternoon to see the Joseph Wright ‘Life on Paper’ exhibition today. Really fascinating to see Wright’s line drawings that showcase his artistic brilliance from age 11. So much to see - will need to visit again before exhibition ends in September. Very much recommend it.

Attended my first bookbinding & journalling workshop by Gareth Hills at @scarthinbooks.bsky.social this evening. A really enjoyable start to a series of workshops that I hope will benefit not only my personal wellbeing, but also my creative practice and teaching at @derbyuni.bsky.social.

So appreciate the vibrant Arts culture in Derby. Tonight, we enjoyed the delights of ‘Love’s Labours Lost’, performed open air at Elvaston Castle by Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company.

ATM Derby is dark, miserably wet & windy on my last teaching day of the week. To get through it, I am remembering brighter, calmer days on campus.
