I saw this recently! It's shown in a book I've just designed, 'Mr Ward's Map', out in Nov! It's written by historian Elizabeth Cox and uses Thomas Ward's 1891 map (all ~88 giant sheets, with every building shown) as the basis for telling amazing stories: www.masseypress.ac.nz/books/mr-war...

Gardeners of #nz #kikorangi: what’s this? I was cutting down a cottoneaster and this was growing below (self seeded). Not the same as what I cut down. Seek has offered up privet, Myrtle rust (?!), Chilean guava, rata… oh and insect and bird lol!

I can't find similar on iphone. I could initially see it once cleared the first time, but it cut off at IF YOU ARE ONSHORE, YOU (and you couldn't open it further). Now I can't see it at all.

Seems like a sensible feature. I cleared asap to A) shut it up and B) check the news

I’m a sporadic, lazy and easily distracted reader, but today I gorged myself on Bad Archive by Flora Feltham. Books, chips, duvet and the sofa on a Sunday. A recommended tonic, but this book especially so 💚 @thwupbooks.bsky.social

A solid week of typesetting. Not convinced that #AI is gonna replace editors + designers any time soon. The nuance in the mark-ups I am fixing is super-detailed. Even with a really good template and style-mapping, it still needs close attention. Also, enjoy this #glitch! #typesetting #bookdesign

Glitches of the day (these should be pretty straightforward text pages, but at 400 pages the file is getting a bit wobbly 🤪) #indesign #bookdesign

Anyone who wants to moan in the mayoral elections that Wellington is a ‘dying city’ is gaslighting the thousands out at the weekend enjoying the very much not dead city #cubadupa #stillmissLaundry

Which to be completely clear is Goulden, who is also reviving the most ludicrous ‘4 lanes to the planes’ idea. Just, no. That’s so four decades ago! More separated cycleways and light rail to the planes? That I could vibe with!

Wellbeing win of a working from home day: three minute commute via shower, quick scan of Popbitch email, and coffee. Despite being in bed at 0830, the day was underway before 9 and I haven’t had to talk 😂☕️💻🥐

Watched last night’s #Severance twice already. So good. Last week at my work had a few dark moments—marshmallow burning level not full ‘threatening collegial murder in the pond of Woe's Hollow’🔥 — but I reckon playing a theramin in the office might help?

Reminder: alt text is flippin’ great for saving us (aka middle aged eyes me) from the awkward ‘zoom in on screen grabs to read text’ manoeuvre. And you can easily get BlueSky to remind you to add it under settings>accessibility! 👀👓🔎💚

A year after handing in and 8 months after defending I attended graduation for my PhD today! So happy to have collaborated with many @tepunahamatatini.bsky.social researchers, had TPM’s support throughout and most of all, working with @rhiansalmon.bsky.social + @rkpriestley.bsky.social 💚
