Pretty typical. Wicket is good but bad. Teams have gone in and out. Veterans and debutantes are both struggling and winning. The grass is green, the sky is blue, the scoreboard is red and every now and then there is the deeply satisfying sound of a leather-bound cork ball, hitting willow.

Oh I don't think I'm anything out of the ordinary. I think you are right; it's important not to overlook the ghastly things that people have done. If we are to remember them properly, we need to acknowledge the bad with the good.

Totally accept that. He was dreadful, often. I guess I'm just trying to be respectful of a career that was more than his views. Perhaps that's too generous of me - that's certainly likely.
