20 minutes, no flow. Could be a fluke.

Interesting - now wondering if it’s just a filter scooping it up or a full-blown blockage in the pipeline, if you catch my drift

Despite my doomposting about tech today, my mood log entry ended up being a mildly positive one.

Got shit done at work today. Things finally clicked for me when it comes to a couple of new technologies I’ve had to learn.

Terraform finally feels like power, and not yet another mountain to conquer

Cannot turn the screen off an LG OLED and only listen to audio whilst the YouTube app is open.

Presumably so it could force feed me ads or upsell Premium, but this is with a Premium account.

Dystopian in a Black Mirror-ish way (literally S01E02) - yet somehow truly incompetent at it simultaneously

Oh, this? This one’s got the Dutch-ize knob.

It turns the Belgian synth preset into Dutch.

…Yeah, these definitely do go to eleven.

Just realised I might be a bit out of the loop on not-so-dystopian and not-so-depressing European news…

This is how I found out that 2026 is the year Bulgaria is adopting the Euro as a currency…

By an email from Apple, of all potential sources.

Rendering a visualiser for a song.

Uncompressed floating point color TIFF sequence.

2160p, but at 2.4:1 aspect ratio, so each frame is 5184x2160.

~150MB per frame at 23.976 frames per second, for 5 minutes and 8 seconds.

>1TB for a 5 minute vid…

7 hours render time… aka sleep time.

Someone’s been testing push notifications in Prod again… this time at Amazon.

Either that, or, much more sinisterly, Amazon is trying - and clearly failing - to remotely open up the Amazon app on my phone via a push notification…

Power cut in the area (an extremely rare event here) that lasted two seconds. 😱

My home network running off a UPS: immediately switches over to the backup LTE.

Zero internet downtime (ok, maybe a few milliseconds).

Wouldn’t have noticed anything had I not got the notification (+ the UPS beeping).

In fact, I’ve now gone as far as buying their film.

As NY elects Zohran in what is a landmark victory for leftists worldwide…

Oh, hey Tallinn, how’s it going?

…uhhhhh, yeah…
June 28, 2025 at 7:44 AM
Oh noes!

My plans of staying at home and drinking wine by myself and binging YouTube this St John’s Day (a national holiday here, usually celebrated amongst people or crowds)…

well…

…actually might’ve been the best idea after all.

Zero plays. Not a single one.

Didn’t even stream my own music.

Say what you want about Soundcloud, but my stuff at least gets *some* plays there.
June 21, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Sums it up, really. #WWDC #Apple
June 9, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Soundcloud does appear to be staffed by morons.
June 3, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Dear @soundcloud.dev, your detection of copyrighted content is impeccable.

The lack of a feature to link official artists’ accounts to “proper” distributor-sourced music seems like a massive oversight however.

Note: Track name is censored in the image as it is yet unreleased worldwide.

Excuse my ignorance, but is that really the definition of an EP, AVID?

And if so, how in the everloving fuck do you release a small EP (single with a “B-side”) when using AvidPlay?

Because the limit for a single is one track.

@avidprotools.bsky.social (since your AvidPlay team doesn’t use bsky)

Oh noes, I may have accidentally created an instrumental 7 minute long indie pop track.

Worse yet — it might actually be somewhat good this time.

Needs lyrics though (and therefore also a vocalist).

Uhh, yeah… 😬

Maybe it’ll be finished next decade then.
(Still sooner than Rail Baltica… or HS2)

So… I opened it in Lightroom, and spent 3 entire hours manually making it as convinving as possible. (Obviously, in my own signature faux-vintage style)

So here comes the philosophical question — can my derivative and transformative version of it be, in theory, be considered art?

So, I took a selfie of mine, and uploaded it to the Estonian public broadcaster’s AI promotional tool for their period drama “Von Fock”which allows you to turn yourself into one of its characters

The result was as uncanny valley as expected, especially the face shape and glasses’… uh, deformation.

Feels so weird seeing my own stuff in my Apple Music Replay playlist.

Well, at least *I* like the stuff that I make.
April 30, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Update: It was the latter. 😬

I believe this is what properly getting ratioed looks like.

Oh god, Arturia released their V Collection 11 of sw instruments and I’m incredibly tempted to upgrade.

€199 is still a big ask for an upgrade though…

I guess I’ll wait for some reviews, and then hopefully it’ll be clear whether it is worth it.
April 24, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Have to say, it does actually work though and tunnel the connection to the UK.

You know how some people become really mature and boring as they age?

I’m 31.

My new router arrived today.

I just set up a secondary public wifi network with a captive portal that is quite literally a shitpost.

…I think it’s safe to say at this point that maturity may not exactly be my forte.
