This exponentially escalating martial rhetoric is worrying, but all the more so because there seem to be no voices refuting or proposing an alternative to this talk of rearmament/defence/security (we all know what that really means)
EU's @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu proposes loosening rules and redirecting spending from elsewhere totalling €800 billion for defence.

"We are in an era of rearmament", she said.

Earlier today the government announced a cut to the UK aid budget to fund an increase in defence spending.
