Uploaded my cover scan brushes too, for anyone who's interested! Covers were printed on glossy paper, so they're much more vibrant than newsprint, but they still have the dot texture that I love so much.

A while back, I worked at a comic book store five days a week, so I had access to a lot of old Marvel and DC comics. I made these brushes from scanning the comics directly. My brush set has all 64 colors which were possible to print on newspaper at the time.

"What was your biggest impact on the Internet?"

When I was 14 years old I screenshot this MiiVerse post and put it on my tumblr blog. It became a huge meme in the Splatoon community and was referenced in the actual games multiple times

In my opinion the reprints of silver-bronze age books look pretty nasty because of the glaringly bright colors but it looks good on Steranko's art. Maybe because he used a lot of white? Or because they're already very graphic? I don't know

I think Toth's best work is due to his graphic use of black and Steranko's best work is due to his use of color* but what they have in common is how unbelievably cool their compositions are

*back then being a colorist was a very different job than it is today but he did his own color guides

Alex Toth and Jim Steranko are probably my 2 favorite artists of all time and every time I see a page by either of them I feel like this

From a horror pitch that didn't go anywhere. 2021. I just sent it to someone for portfolio reasons and while it's not my most recent work it's still kinda cool lol

today in "stupid thing i will probably never finish" (as usual)

trying to figure out adventure game studio. thought it would be neat to give it a false 3d effect where her sprite gets smaller when she moves "farther away", which is really just up in this case
