I hate injustice, hypocrisy, and being rushed. I love Oxford commas, but also fear them. I live in Scotland.
Please let this be the tipping point.

Cameron has never been given the deserved blame for this. It was an error of epic proportions. Reading DM readers comments you would honestly think we skipped straight from Gordon Brown to Keir Starmer with nothing between. Insane.

That’s actually a great analogy.

Privatise the profits - socialise the risk.
Also known as ‘ what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine too’.

It feels like there a sudden shift in the media narrative surrounding him from breathlessly reporting his every utterance to being very critical. Again probably wishful thinking.

That’s serendipity! I’ve just discovered her and doesn’t seem to be coming to Scotland any time soon. 🙁

I suspect his advisers are young. They are probably smart people and have a sound grasp of recent history and politics but no actual lived and remembered experience of how the public felt when ‘this’ happened or how ‘this’ particular situation panned out or was resolved. It’s proving fatal.

He needs ‘an’ Alistair Campbell. Not ‘the’ Alistair Campbell obviously because a. It’s not 1999, and b. the original has been so thoroughly reviled it would be unspeakably toxic. At this stage I feel I could do do a better job than his advisers.

I thought this when I read the coverage too.

Hegseth framed his thinking as "well, you can never know if they got the job bc they are black or a woman, you just can't know, so you just have to fire them.
I'm quite certain high ranking Black or Women officers were overqualified for the job, I have questions about the white men.

Great article. I’ve lived in Glasgow for 30 years and I didn’t know a lot of of this stuff about Glasgow’s finances. It really explains a huge amount about the current state of the city.

As you get older you have more limited time to play and you know exactly what sort of games you like. Thus you return to old favourites and are less likely to persevere with those ones that aren’t doing it for you.

Great analogy. We have two big sports teams in my home city. Most people don’t leave home on the occasions they play each other as it causes havoc with public transport etc. I never have a clue and am always surprised and dismayed when my plans are spoiled because I am so uninterested in the sport.

About 1996/7 my housemate’s boyfriend used to come round in the evening with his PS1 and we’d all sit round, drink and watch while he played Tomb Raider 2 offering helpful suggestions. Good times. Still love Tomb Raider.

Gabriel Knight games. Picked up GK3 cheap in about 2002ish. I’d never played this sort of complex story led game and I loved it. Then spent ages trying to find copies of GK1 and 2 and more time getting them to run properly on my PC.Opened my eyes to possibilities of what games could be.
