Every four weeks I take Salem to the vet for his arthritis injection and bribe him with churu treats so he doesn't commit a felony.
My favourite part of this experience is taking photos of him being angry but too interested in the churu to do anything about it.

Clearing out my bookshelf because I don't give shelf space to abusers and it feels particularly rough to be tearing out this inscription from a friend given the circumstances.

No, a van to me is slightly bigger than, say, a 4WD car. A van is basically a large rectangular car with a big storage space. A small lorry to me is a cab at the front with a (fixed) rectangular storage cube on the back like this.

I made two batches of chocolate chip muffins which are now in the freezer so I can pull one out, heat it up, and have a fresh baked muffin whenever I like.

It's International Day of People with Disabilities #IDPWD so OF COURSE I woke up feeling Mystery Bad and Too Hot. I've been stuck on the couch alternating between dozing off, nausea, and violent tremors because my nervous system has lost the plot.

Salem has to have an arthritis injection every month and the only way we get through that without a massive tantrum is with bribes of treats. This experience is not dissimilar to training myself away from The Bad Site and posting here more instead.

My big bear of a cat Salem, my entire heart and soul cat, was diagnosed with Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy this week.
So far his only symptom is a heart murmur and he doesn't require meds. I don't know how to cope with the fact he's not going to live forever, it is soul crushingly unfair.

He got stuck in the yard and of course could not get back up on the fence to come home. I had to drive around the block, knock on a very confused elderly woman's door and explain that my ridiculous cat was stuck in her yard.

We were having some nice (supervised) outside time today when Felix broke containment by climbing onto the shed, refusing to come down, and then jumping into the neighbour's backyard.

Yeah, that's kind of the theory we have now! He's a beautiful boy. He asks to be picked up by stretching up and putting his paws on my legs or my chest (if he's on the couch or something), and then he'll wrap them around my neck and hold on. I have to walk around with him like a toddler on my hip 😂

Everyone gets very excited about Salem because he is gigantic and not quite a tabby and not quite a tortie. His back is all black, the top of his tail is black. He has tabby stripes on his legs, but the split tortie face and belly. To me he's just my big large bear of a cat. Perfect.

Salem went to the vet today and the monstrous dose of sedatives kicked in after we got home. The large boy has arthritis which he got a fancy injection for, and also a heart murmur. So now he needs to see a cat cardiologist. Because of course my cats would also need medical specialists.
