Looking toward 2026 midterms and the double edge sword of “energy” prices.

The Trump administration will boast as gasoline prices drop (thanks to sustained lower global oil prices) yet electricity rises are rising in many areas. The causes vary but the impact is perhaps more real for consumers.

Chevron’s dance:

“But a new license — the details of which have been kept confidential — apparently prevents the company from sending hard currency into Venezuela’s banking system. Still, Chevron’s oil exports are providing Mr. Maduro’s economy with real support.

It’s time for Mexico to stop flaring its precious natural gas

In 2024, Mexico and #Pemex flared 5.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas while importing massive volumes from the U.S. undermining climate and exposing Mexico to geopolitical & energy security risks.

Every year at the @mlb.com trade deadline @padres.com GM AJ Preller just goes all out and seemingly deals all their top prospects to bring in players to get to the World Series.

Can’t help but tip my hat.

But even more amazing is that he still has any prospects to deal.
