I don’t want to start mass-blocking indie authors on here, I know how hard people work on making and selling their books, but for feck’s sake, it’s the source of a flood of ‘AI’ images and it’s infuriating to see. If you want to be taken seriously as an artist, you need to dump that shit.

Gather round for a treat (it’s not ship’s biscuit, I swear)
Two character art pieces adorn the corners of the image, on the right is a dark haired white woman with a piercing gaze and a ruby earring, on the left is a pirate guy with blondish hair and an earring. Between them golden artsy words read: The Wretched Lady Book 1. Then in white paper snippets there are bits from the book reading : "If I remember correctly, your skirts stayed on, love." I watched as the heat in his eyes smoothed over into practiced flirtation. Bright but not intense, interested but not overly. I was the one to pause, for he set my heart racing far faster than the dancing, and I would not, under any circumstance let him win this battle of words. It was a simple matter to duck under his arm, letting our bodies press close for an instant, and to murmur from the hallway ahead of him, "I'm amazed you remember anything of me at all, since you've been throwing me cross looks and ordering me around." I minced a little for his benefit, less sure of my heading than I pretended, and a trifle afraid of the murky depths of the ship, "It's enough to hurt a girl's feelings."
