My problem isn't the separation shaming (though that is legit criticism).
It's Ditum helping herself to describing a phenomenon by means of anecdotes and psychobabble analysis, when it's fundamentally an empirical question only answerable by empirical means.

But the sheer speculative nature of these claims without the ability to scrutinize the evidence, seems more like a poison pill that we all get to swallow later on than perspicacity.

Exactly what ethics were breached? If Elon feels that ethics were breached, he can (and probably will) sue for libel. Though, if it turns out that the story was vetted properly (sourced and confirmed), that would be embarrassing. Especially if Tesla share owners decide to nix Elon later.
