Am I correct in understanding that this act would affect all academic collaborations/research activities? That is, that the act does not identify particular areas of research to be prohibited, but all collaborations across fields?

My students are thoughtful and care genuinely about the environment. But as soon as I opened discussion around the question of "how do we do history in the age of climate crisis" they immediately started repeating these talking points from their Econ class(es) as if they were just fact.

Nary a word on what doctors do or do not like about AI in clinical settings, nor on what its opportunities or challenges are, but many words to frame AI as an inevitable, uniform advancement and AI-skepticism as hidebound and ignorant

Yeah, would be better if they could come up with their own thing. But anything that gets under his skin is good with me, and at least CA could claim Reagan as one of their own, etc.

They are so variable! When I first started teaching Intro to LA my first year on the job, I just bought them all because I was panicked about how I was going to cover the entire region and didn't really know where to begin. But there are some I use a lot and some I use almost never.
