Yes! My wife and I can't afford to leave MO, and if we do, we leave behind friends more vulnerable than ourselves. We can't just abandon entire regions out of a misguided assumption that the people there must deserve their fate because of the dominant political leanings in the states in that region.

This is not a reciprocal relationship. It's not meant to be. There's no 1-to-1 follow expectation. People follow who they want for whatever reason they want. More follow him because he is a popular and talented writer with a big following. That's just how it works.
