Beyond reducing acquired STIs through behavioral mechanisms, doxyPEP might make a lasting impact indirectly through other comorbidities in other priority groups such as pelvic inflammatory dz, congenital syphilis, etc. Ongoing studies may reveal other downstream findings, excited for 2025 data.

I truly hope that we can move through this quickly, so that all the CHW‘s, research administrators, and public health officials affected by this may continue their life, saving work on the forefront of countering American disease among all demographics. 🙏

I needed to remind myself that there’ thousands of people, both within and outside the infectious disease world, whose hard work on the front lines in ensures if improvement of outcomes, from viral infections to chronic health conditions. Even interruption of a few days-weeks can affect thousands
