I get that part of asym. multiplayer is that sometimes you get to be a raid boss and wreck house, and if you make it optional to queue with an AI, it'll dry up your scene.
But imagine not even any new assets, just set up an ai and some difficulty scaling tools, only available for private lobbies

Take Dead By Daylight. It may be the most well known asymmetrical PVP game outside of social deduction games, But that is in spite of the fact that 90% of the player base either hates playing Survivor because it's limiting and frustrating or hates playing killer because they're no good at it.

And the question I have to ask is just "what am I getting out of this?"
Some nights it definitely is a destresser, but other times I know I am just wasting time. I need to find and figure out games that feel worth playing.

I've been playing P-Fighters competitively for 14 years. I've done the grind. I've fought the people way better than me. But past a certain gap, it just isn't fun, even in friendlies. If I sign up at a tourney and get smacked, whatever. But in daily play, the matchmaking can really suck.

I do this to try and practice, but it doesn't change the problem. When I step into ranked, I shouldn't be fighting a 300+ rating gap. I know my skill level, I know I can't hang with plat. So stepping into the ring with someone who is going to rushdown combo me from 0 ISN'T FUN.
