Boating opened a whole new world for me but I learned patience. If you were a resident boater instead of weekend boater, you could pick your time. Wind is the enemy of a wonderful day on the water boating. Sometimes you wait weeks for the wind to stop and get water like what is in these pictures.
Skiff about to go through mouth of Raymond's Gut and enter the White Oak River. The white PVC poles mark the safe channel to the marked channel. If you have a GPS with depth finder you don't really need them. You do not get many days when the White Oak River is this smooth all the way to Swansboro- 3 miles. A couple of miles out into the Atlantic and headed back to shore after catching so many bluefish (over 50) that our arms ached. We threw all of them back except half a dozen.
