Baseball! Sports generally, art, music, local government (VA/Chicago, specifically), civil practice attorney, pop culture, Cubs fan, foodie. “keen sense of outrage” not legal advice, may/may not be dishes in the sink, typo queen
First night of practice and picking kid up from practice and the LIGHTS on at the high school track are on and glorious! Thank you to those in our community who made the lights possible.

JUST IN: second night in a row I’ve cooked a unique meal. Who have I become? Tonight? Rancho Gordo white beans with chicken sausage soup of some sort. The weather changing inspired this. The youngest “I don’t really like beans” so we shall see how this goes.

Brief trip to San Francisco. I could not possibly fit in everything or even a quarter of what I wanted to do so baseball, books, walking, Chinese bakeries, and the bayside were prioritized.

FYI my Kroger Hydraulic friends: looks like the records will go miles up the road rather than the one 3/4 mile down the road- super annoying. What else is new.

First stop of the day. As some know Staunton is one of my fav places to visit. Never get to stay long but it’s always lovely.

Fourth of July weekend. I’m genuinely surprised at the spectrum of prices throughout VA and I haven’t been to NoVA proper or East of Goochland.

Please be safe out there. So many traffic accidents out on these streets. Keep our first responders indoors and get home safely. Thank you to all those doing important work outdoors. Please take breaks and hydrate.

Sunday as a tournament mom. There is a lot of heat. If this continues longer than this summer I will have to plan better. Grateful for older siblings to watch the youngest.

Sometimes I search “coffee shop” on the google map and I drive five miles out of the way ending up at an incredible bookstore/coffee shop in the middle of Lynchburg, VA. Go see Troublemaker and Givens Book if you are somewhat near the area. What a find!

Impressive work Facilities Management. While I avoid graduation typically, having the experience today was really lovely.

Going into last game(s) of 3rd child’s Fall baseball season. The age gap of the league is stark 12-16. Its been a joy to watch kids develop throughout the season. Glad this one is playing well into 8th grade. Here is to many more seasons.

Child #3 last year of Little League. I won’t be at next series of games. Love watching this last practice before next game. They would play all night if you would let them. Will
miss these sweet nights.
