Funny how a supposed "national security" purpose for the tariffs didn't make it into Solicitor General's Sauer's narrative of why Trump imposed them. Maybe Trump's application of them to Switzerland and Canada and a ton of other nonthreatening nations had something to do with that choice.

Gellman's book on Dick Cheney is a masterpiece among other bios of American pols. Even while Bush/Cheney was still in office, Gellman exposed Cheney as a poor steward of the federal fisc, a lover of land wars, and manipulator of a president beyond what any other Vice had done in U.S. history.
