Morning arrives in downtown. The street is quiet… for now.

The lines and colors of my daily commute are pretty amazing.

I went downtown early in the morning to get a shot I've been thinking about for awhile. I walked around a corner after getting that shot and found this interesting angle.

This is the view I see every morning on the way into the office. Well, nearly every morning. The sunrise doesn't always cooperate and sometimes a ship at the dock blocks the view. I finally captured a photograph of it.

There's an old phone booth near the entrance to Embankment Station of the London Underground. I went in just to sort of check it out but quickly realized its panes of glass provided some nice framing for people in the to and fro for the Tube. So I grabbed a few frames.

A non-functional old phone booth provided a perfect place to rest my camera for a slow shutter speed shot of people walking toward Embankment Station of the London Underground.

Out come the umbrellas.

Remember when you'd sit in a public place and just… sit. Maybe people watch a bit? Very few people do that these days. The phone seems to come out almost automatically. Sometimes I wonder what "bored thinking" we're losing as a result. It's not nothing, I know that.

This photo is the reason (well, one of the reasons) why I haven't started using "AI-powered culling" in my photography workflow. Nothing in it is in focus. Nothing. Yet, for some reason, I love the photo. And I suspect every AI culling tool out there would have killed it.

The trench coat was just too much…I had to capture this scene. I have no idea who she is or where she's going, but I'm intrigued.

I love the contrast in this photo… the energy of traffic racing by Trafalgar Square and the stoic nature of Elizabeth Tower standing calmly in the background. Familiar stability backstopping the chaotic nature of daily life. Love it.

Here's another shot of this week's supermoon over downtown Toledo. I think I like this one a bit better that the one I posted earlier. Moon crossing the cables, last bit of sunlight, and traffic on the bridge. Got all of it!

We've got a supermoon! Everything lined up perfectly last night - full moon (supermoon!) rising over the bridge right outside my office, as the sun set. I love it when a plan comes together!

...and one of the original blackboards from Einstein's Oxford lecture on his General Theory of Relativity. The Bridge was cool to see, but that blackboard….

We took a side trip to Oxford one day. Nice to see, but it was a little rushed. Maybe someday we'll get a chance to spend a little more time there. I got the important shots though - Hertford Bridge, a.k.a. the "Bridge of Sighs" (named after the one in Venice)...

We walked along the backside of St. Paul's Cathedral on the way home from dinner one night and came across this nice reflection. I only had my iPhone with me, but I was pretty happy with the shot! #London #ShotOniPhone

And finally, the required postcard shot.

The Towers make great frames. ;-)

Looking into oncoming traffic, and the open arms of the spans to the Tower.

Making photographs of landmarks that have been photographed a bazillion times is always challenging. I took the required shots of #TowerBridge during our London trip, of course, but I sort of like some of "the others" better. Like this one - walking up the North stairs.

Just when I think I know *where* London traffic is coming from, and *when* it's coming…I realize I really don't. I've learned to appreciate these ever-present reminders on the streets.

I'm going to start posting some photos I took during a recent trip to London, "real camera" and iPhone shots alike. This is one of the first of the trip, a casual iPhone shot. I found the tiny tables for one on these balconies interesting as my wife and I dined at a table for two on our anniversary.

Good morning! No better way to start a day… especially a Monday...than watching the sunrise over water...

I took this a few weeks ago from the middle of the Maumee River in northwest Ohio.
