Good point. The one I am supposed to be on was operationally functional in IAR. We could submit critiques and went to Read phase as usual. Please do this if you can, folks. It may help to speed the recovery once the gov is funded again.
If you are serving on NIH study sections that have been cancelled, PLEASE continue to work on your reviews. NIH will do everything their power to ensure the meetings happen eventually, and the more prepared you are when those meetings are rescheduled, the better.
Welp. Thanks to the Republican gov shutdown I have a bunch of hours back in my week due to a NIH study section not meeting.

These poor applicants. They will be waiting week by week for government to reopen and to find out what will happen to their grant application.

I don't follow baseball that much. Maybe some postseason stuff. Seems that Ohtani guy might be pretty good.

Giants > Eagles. Saints > Giants. Ergo Saints > Eagles. I will take no questions at this time.

30 years, 3 states, 5 jobs, two grown sons, a world of experiences. What a ride it has been with one of the best people I have ever known. I feel so grateful to have found my person when I did.

With so much bad shit going on in the world right now, it was a true pleasure to ride in the New Orleans Pride parade today with good friends. What joy and happiness and a true sense of community and love. It gave me some fuel for hope.

Watching the Andor season 2 finale and immediately rolling into Rogue One makes that ending really hit that much harder. I will miss you C-c-c-cassian.

I love video games. I am on my 4th play though of Days Gone (remastered) and I am still so sad that this game did not get the attention I think it deserved. This is a truly great game. I am also sad there will be no part 2. Also Sarah rocks.

This is the hero we all wish to be.
The blood of a man who deliberately injected himself with snake venom for nearly 2 decades has led to an "unparalleled" antivenom, say scientists.

Antibodies found in his blood can protect against fatal doses from a wide range of species in animal tests.

My younger son is writing his senior college thesis on corvid (crows, ravens, jays) co-evolutionary adaptation living among humans and how they can use human infrastructure to survive in the environment better. He has taught me just how cool crows are. This is a fascinating study.

Anora is in incredible film. Mikey Madison deserved the Oscar and it was sweet and funny and sad and beautifully written and directed.

Nothing at Mardi Gras is better than the bands. They make the whole experience and I am always in awe of how great and hard working they are.
The hardest working people in these parades are the kids…

My sons (21 and 24) are two of the greatest humans I know. Wife is out of town so they came over and we made dinner and had wine and they remain two of the greatest humans I know. I feel so lucky. Holding the people I love most close to me is helping get me through this trying time.
