Roman Archaeologist living in Athens. Decolonialism/funerary studies/public history. In my civilian life I’m into LOTR, cats, DnD, tzatziki with fries, and dismantling systems of oppression.
Posting late, but the turnout of tens of thousands in London was heartening ✊. Continued mass protests around the world show that we refuse to back down from speaking out against genocide. I was moved by the large Jewish community and their words for peace and their demand: Never Again, for Anybody.

Visited the remains of a Roman villa in the All Hallow’s crypt near the Tower of London. Highlights from the crypt museum include this cherub with accompanying skull (very metal) and a ceremonial trowel.

Made a fox friend at Highgate Cemetery. Also very struck by how much the Victorians borrowed from 1st-2nd c. Roman burial culture. The monumentalization of the roadways and the burial clubs (funeral collegia!) let alone the actual architecture… very cool #ancientbluesky

Have left my apartment maybe three times in the last month as I finish this dissertation. But Gandalf is right, the world is not in my books and maps. So I stitched this together to remind myself of the world I’ve seen in the last year ❤️ 🌍
