I write, sometimes. Living through a House of Leaves phase.
Speaking of little brothers… here he is! I like this photo because my face looks like, “… But I don’t know if I want a little brother.”

In reality I remember I was terrified of holding something so tiny and new but my mother wanted the photo op so much.

Continually amazed by the people who manage to write entire novels. I have just wrapped up a novella and I think I lost life points.

I am living the meme:

Every now and then I read passages from Helen Keller's memoir and they are so beautiful it stuns me:

Got mixed feelings about this Ryan Murphy. His Monster series is so much.

S2 was good but pushed the envelope in uncomfortable ways I was not prepared for.

S3 has straight up got me like:

Even when the settings changed, the “resting areas” were always familiar: diners, the Impala, the same rhythm of life on the road.

For me, the show was formative. It taught me that you don’t need elaborate plots or exotic backdrops for a story to really hit you on the heart.

This might be an unpopular take in the SPN fandom but SPN was best when they were doing the whole episodic monster-of-the-week.

Stakes were lower. But the show felt richer because it was about atmosphere and character moments rather than trying to out-escalate itself every season.

So, Bluesky’s new guidelines want the platform to look “healthier” and “safer,” which in practice means sanitizing creativity and clamping down on anything that sparks too much discomfort or controversy...?

Morning Glory Milking Farm. There's a few "Monster Bait Romance" / Cambric Creek books in this collection.

The premises made me laugh at first, but they are genuinely good reads.

The author of Toji (토지) created a writers’ sanctuary before her passing, a retreat where writers can stay, enjoy home-cooked meals, walk through gardens, and connect with other writers. All for free.

If I win the lottery tonight, I'm sinking funds into a place like this right here in my home state.

Ana look! We had matching sandals today. 🩴

She reminded me how old I’m getting. 😂

She’s not wrong! 😭

I do love that Dante condemned the Pope to Hell while he was still alive.

"Hey, Boniface.”

On this note I have to share this photo of Dante included. This is the face I think of whenever I think back on Inferno: the greatest hater of his age.

So a very dear friend of mine had stayed awake to bid on these. And I got to take them home with me. ❤️

(This is just a fraction of the total haul which was obscene.)

Am also trying for this rare edition of Schmetterlingsbuch (Book of Butterflies) by Franz Strakle... of all the books I wished to have, this one is going to be most impossible.

Cornbread, coleslaw, and bbq’d beans.

Boxed cornbread is always a bit too sweet for me. Need savory and greasy.

Slayed this work week.

Today I am binge reading. Nothing more. If the universe is extra kind to me I will barely have to move from this sofa.

I even planted Kelos Fire Celosia to keep by my window sill.

I would give you original art but I am a very bad artist... so I will give you this commissioned art from Indi of indicreates instead!

This is Jack from "Before We Disappear" by Shaun Hutchinson.

My soul required quality fanart after reading that one. 💝

I think I'm funny.

Also low-key worry about having my professional colleagues following this account because now they can see all the silly things I'm into.

(And believe me, I can get weirder.)

Am usually not one for poetry. Unless it takes the form of a long, unfolding story, it rarely leaves me feeling fulfilled.

But "Piano Lesson" by Richard Siken? Loved this one. This is one poem that has stuck with me since I first read it.

Somehow I have never read this. The sapphic dark romance that inspired Dracula. Hope it hurts me good.

You might notice a picture is missing on the wall behind me… I bought it! ❤️

Artist is Sara Allison. They’re on Instagram!
