I somewhat struggle to see the value of such a body. More government/gov coordination is hardly the approach to growing the sector

trying to hold down supply chain costs? looks like you’ve pissed off the government and workers by using a meagre amount of market power

wish to lower prices for consumers? unfortunately you’ve now pissed off the suppliers. looking to pay suppliers more for better access? consumers pissed off

apart from the dealership network of ford/toyota, no idea why you wouldn't buy a shark 6. given how quick byd is growing its not a bad bet they'll have a presence in the regions soon

just seems a bit better than everything else on the market, especially for the price. ford and toyota are cooked

the regional tradeoff here is pretty brutal. some of the best performing regional LGAs in terms of agriculture (i.e. Carrathool) have seen greatly decreased non-ag opportunities. really quite a lopsided agglomeration effect

this probably speaks more to the decline in dairy demand and comparative high barriers to entry (skill and cost) than any story of on farm productivity

on the other end, whole swarths of horticulture have been whipped out due to inability to increase productivity to keep up with market labour costs.

There are a number of commodities that haven’t seen the declines like broadacre cropping. livestock, with its comparatively low barrier to entry has remained stubbornly small scale
