I'm sorry, nine HUNDRED former DOJ lawyers all signed this letter opposing Emil Bove's nomination to be an appellate federal judge?

I didn’t give a wit about new pope coverage, but the first American pope being a man with Black ancestry born in Chicago by way of New Orleans by way of Haiti. Names his self after the pope who condemned slavery? In the Trump era? Oh, baebae, I am HERE for it.

Pope Leo XIV's grandparents were 7th Ward Creoles
The newly elected pontiff, born in Chicago, has ancestral ties to the city’s historic Seventh Ward, according to genealogists at The Historic New Orleans Collection.

The state of book bans in the state of FL. (Yes, I’m banned there A LOT)
Last week the FLDOE quietly published its (incomplete) list of 700+ instances of censorship recorded across the state during the 23/24 SY.

According to the list, 500+ unique titles were removed. 120+ titles were removed in 2+ districts. 35+ authors had 3+ books removed.

Ok, gonna reword the post.

Librarians want you to know those empty carts in the stacks: we want you to put books you browse there instead of reshelving! We keep stats on "in-house" use for reasons including collection management & funding. Also, staff prefer to re-shelve for you. It's our job!
