Being the G5 frontrunner is a curse. Three weeks in a row now the G5 team with the highest playoff % lost. Memphis to UAB, USF to Memphis, and then we had 4 this week:
- Tulane lost to UTSA on Thursday
- Navy lost to UNT on Saturday morning
- The MWC collapsed as BOTH leaders lost

Because no one from out of state knows where anything here is.
I’ve had a very large amount of conversations that go:
“Where are you from?” “XX, NJ”
“Where’s that?” “Central Jersey”
“So how far are you from the city?”
It’s just easier to say “Jersey, 40 minutes from NYC” to any out-of-stater

Retroactively punishing a school for allowing something that was allowed, especially by cutting $175 million of funding (most of which doesn’t even go to athletics), harms exponentially more people than it helps (Hint: it helps exactly no one) and opens the door to more harmful consequences
