Physician Scientist; Thoracic Med Onc; Research focused on STK11 mutant lung cancer. Things I love: my family, my OSU colleagues, awesome patients and pt advocates, sciency geeky things, everything and everyone raising the bar in lung cancer, being weird.
My 17 year-old daughter came home the other day after going to a pawn shop and deciding to buy a katana..

And today I went to investigate a loud banging noise in the house and turns out she is in her room ‘whittling’ a practice sword from a sturdy stick using a hatchet.

Some kid lol

Looks like some good new ‘big data’ to play with :)
Lung cancers are not all alike. This study uses impressively broad multi-omic analysis to cluster cancers into biological subtypes, with potential clinical implications. Can we target our treatments better? I'll be using this one in a lecture on multi-omic integration! Found on researchbriefing.com.
Proteogenomic analysis reveals non-small cell lung cancer subtypes predicting chromosome instability, and tumor microenvironment - Nature Communications
Subtyping of non-small cell lung cancer can be challenging based on pathology. Here, the authors utilise multi-omics analysis of 229 patients to identify further subtypes, and altered immune…

Up for today at work: negotiating data sharing agreements to test today’s cutting-edge lung cancer questions with existing data from pivotal immunotherapy trials over the past few years.

Imagine the progress we could achieve as a field if genomics data were pooled across *ALL* our largest trials..

This is fun and kind of exciting to be witnessing what could be the hoped for exodus from X to a welcoming alternative.

Feels kinda new and full of growth here, not sclerotic and umm.. kinda weird.

I just followed everyone on a #LCSM list, and knew many of the names and excited to meet the rest!
