The music and dance scene in Sinners is still so powerful to me. Black people born with the gift of music and dance are special in our own right. Technique is learned, but the passion and freedom through movement and sound can’t be taught.

One thing I love about Sinners is that even though nightlife showed Sammy the absolute worst of people, it also showed him the absolute best of people through music, joy, love, community, and dance.
He didn’t find the later in the church….Where you would most expect it……

She’s asked me about 3x how my day was and 2x where I’m from. And I answered all of the times.
