The layout of the board seemed familiar to me. Plus the GDR and USSR ICs gave it away. Maybe the electrolytic capacitors are TESLAs?

On September 2, four people completed the first loop of R-Type in HEY: certain Ryusuke (not sure about the second loop, but it must have been at least fairy close), two anonymous players and.... drumroll... yours truly.

Okay, I found R-Type in Hirose, not sure how I missed it the first time. Played a couple of games yesterday, the first one was almost a success. Will try to play some more tonight.

There is no denying this is strongly inspired by Galaga. But I'd say it's more of a tribute than a port. What struck me is how polished this C64 game is.
