Trump's blanket pardons for Jan. 6 coup participants made a mockery of the law.

This was mass political violence, embodying extreme contempt for our democratic processes, in the service of installing a right-wing authoritarian against the will of the people. Never forget it.

Great stuff from @aselrod.bsky.social writing at @theunpopulist.net: Debate about rights is normal in a democracy and needs to be tolerated. But the political right has gone beyond that debate, advocating for the elimination of a certain type of people goes beyond that and need not be tolerated.

It's often not realised that the term "Anti-Semitism" was originally coined by antisemites, who wanted to insist that they weren't opposed to *Jews*, but to "Semitism" or "Jewish ideology". It's a well-trodden fake distinction.
When right-wing figures say they’re opposing “the trans agenda” or “trans ideology,” they're attempting to portray their efforts as targeting a *political program* when in reality they’re targeting trans people themselves, and pushing for their full exclusion from public life.

In a 1962 letter, Holocaust organizer Adolf Eichmann wrote that he and other low-level officers were “forced to serve as mere instruments,” shifting the responsibility for the deaths of millions of Jews to his superiors.

The “just following orders” featured heavily in Eichmann’s court hearings.

So this lawyer, if I recall correctly, was originally slated to be White House Counsel. He was then assigned to be counsel for DOGE. And now he’s gone.

Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps.

The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years.

History is repeating. Pay attention.
