So why is the new Speaker "dragged" to the chair? The Speaker, by tradition, feigns reluctance to take the post. This dates to the days when British speakers were the ones to give the monarch bad news, a dangerous duty that could cause a speaker to lose their head.

2024 has just been a wild ride. Honestly did not have getting diagnosed on my bingo card. Finally switched jobs, and may be switching up again with a promotion in the near future.
I’ve been super fortunate the last few months and hope that spreads around to others too.
