The thing about being a powerful woman in this society is that it almost always means you’re around powerful men who can still do you harm.

And also, gender transcends hierarchy. Famous women endure *a lot* of damaging sexism from men who have way less structural power than them.

I can’t stop thinking about this page of allegations from Blake Lively’s lawsuit. If this could happen to an A-list actress on a set for a movie that made $350 million, it could happen to anyone on any kind of set.

When the birth scene was filmed, the set was chaotic, crowded and utterly lacking in standard industry protections for filming nude scenes-such as choregraphing the scene with an intimacy coordinator, having a signed nudity rider, or simply turning off the monitors so the scene was not broadcast to all crew on set (and on their personal phones and iPad). Mr. Heath and Mr. Baldoni also failed to close the set, allowing non-essential crew to pass through while Ms. Lively was mostly nude with her legs spread wide in stirrups and only a small piece of fabric covering her genitalia. Among the non- essential persons present that day was Wayfarer co-Chairman Mr. Sarowitz, who flew in for one of his few set visits. Ms. Lively was not provided with anything to cover herself with between takes until after she had made multiple requests. Ms. Lively became even more alarmed when Mr. Baldoni introduced his "best friend" to play the role of the OBGYN, when ordinarily, a small role of this nature would be filled by a local actor. Ms. Lively felt that the selection of Mr. Baldoni's friend for this intimate role,…

I will meet all kinds of people where they're at. I believe there are things we can do that would benefit everyone, even people who don't like me based on who I am. but when you tell me I have to tiptoe around their feelings, lol no. that's not how mutual respect is built in the first place

This app just proves to me (not that i needed it) how much bait/red-pilled/alt-right rhetoric is forcibly pushed into your feed and down your throat on twit, its so peaceful and im not worried about having to see the worst posts about things i love or care about
