Wow!! That is so amazing 🤩
Yes, indeed! Kids (and adults) need more civic education. It baffles me when people don't vote and don't care... 🥲

Thanks! I am actually also very proud that my 7-year-old can explain what an election is and why we vote.
She even knows the difference between Dad voting in Korea’s overseas elections and Mom voting in U.S. elections 😊

Thanks a lot! She is a lot better now, and the doctor confirmed that she could be returned to school ❤️

I have more to say about the “crown” moment, and my take may surprise you. I’ve submitted a full essay; if it runs, I’ll share the link here. If not, I’ll post it on my site.

What stood out to you in that scene? I’d love to hear your view.

Reports on #ICE raids here brought me back to Kumhee’s years of #invisibility in #China. That is why I chose to publish this piece first from the larger manuscript.

It follows her path from North Korea to hiding in China, and the inner #desert we carry when our names are not recognized.

This is such a lovely, welcoming state with breathtaking Mother Nature! (I have lived in many different places in my life, and the WA summer is by far the best!)

That’s so meaningful that you did that with your son 💛 While I want her to grow up knowing what it looks like when people stand up together, maybe I feel more at ease because I’m in a blue state… but it’s sad that we even have to think about this at all…
