I get to Medgar Evers Pool (Garfield HS) at 7:45 pm every Tuesday for water polo practice, and there is a drop box in the community center parking lot. It’s usually busy on election night, but this year was like a presidential election night.

Messing around with decaying flesh aside, people don’t talk enough about how bad things must’ve smelled in the past. Bad breath, body odor, chamber pots, raw sewage, lack of central garbage collection, horse manure… the past probably smelled awful. Everyone smelled terrible.
