It's extraordinarily that doing what improves the lives of the UK's citizens the most is seen as a lesser priority than what improves the govt's chance of re-election. And equally extraordinarily that these are not the same.

When I worked for the Science Museum Group the security guards were a huge asset. Essential to the safe running of the sites, a reassurance to everyone working FoH, visitor focused and knew more about the collections than most. It's not a good reflection on museums to see how undervalued they are.
