there are people out there who really, truly can't wait to just "hop on a quick call". like, genuinely for the love of the game. and they have to be stopped.

I bought Twitter for $44,000,000,000 and sold it back to myself for $33,000,000,000. I have 43 kids and no friends. Everything I make explodes

One interesting I’m seeing with GenAI coding tools:

The MASSIVELY help technical founders at small and mid-sized startups prototype, challenge dev team, and ship products faster.

A recent example I’ve seen (cont’d):

A bold move by Apple here, their first attempt to do something, anything, to promote the dozens of quite good TV shows they've made at a cost of twenty billion dollars.

I get LOTS of candidates who have written their application using chatGPT, the tone/style is easy to spot.

I had one this week that had very clearly asked "write me a CV that fits this job description", because they had the names of our internal tooling in the technical skills section 🙄
Today's deepdive: How GenAI tools are reshaping software engineering recruitment.

An interesting find: cover letters are practically dead (90%+ of them are AI-generated, according to hiring managers we spoke to.)

Good news: Twitter is collapsing.

And this chart doesn't even show the last two weeks—which have seen the largest exodus in site history.

There are reports from Newsweek and others that Twitter may merge with Truth Social.

If that happens, the last collapse of Twitter may happen almost overnight.

Used to upgrade my laptop every two years or so but with my 2021 M1 Pro MBP it just...doesn't feel necessary? The battery lasts all day and it barely breaks a sweat doing anything I throw at it. I wonder if Apple have made a laptop that's *too* good, and what impact that might have for future sales.

Sampled the US healthcare system last week after an allergic reaction. $275 just to walk in the urgent care centre, plus a ton of (very readily-prescribed) meds. I know the NHS has flaws but I'm grateful for a system in which I can just get care when I need it, without having to open my wallet.
