I have a medical condition, but no wheelchair so no accessible access. Not knowing stage times makes me more likely to come only for headliner, as I can't plan how long I'll be standing etc or without ready access to things I need. It's extremely inaccessible to not share start, stage, end times.

Love the idea in the story of the gig ending a bit earlier so that everyone can hang out, buy merch etc without needing to rush off home. I think people's drinking habits have changed, so everyone's a lot more 'reasonable' by the end of the night, so feels like a great way to build community.

I like the kinda network effect of so many restaurants using a single platform so I don't have to give my entire personal history to 1,000s of random booking sites, but definitely agree that OpenTable is relentless in its spam; texts, emails, reminders, review requests, confirmations 😩

I've had some odd PR emails that felt a lot like this too. They didn't try to flatter, but they went to a lot of detail to describe my most recent three articles, which were a bit all over the place topic-wise, so it made it clear there wasn't really any actual thought, so presumed AI.

Interesting that Zarah put out a detailed statement, and this 'official' one makes loose, vague references that read a lot like "why isn't she doing what the men tell her to?"

Really interesting piece, and Substack vs Ghost was a great example for the point too. I recently read another story about debates on decentralisation and, like this with open source, reminded me of why its such an important concept.
