The Senate passed legislation that would require the IRS to explain any math or clerical errors made on federal returns and notify taxpayers about the opportunity to abate wrongly assessed tax.

Today was a good day - IRS Manager Conference after filing a series of CAP Appeals regarding Levies - Manager agreed - Capricious, Undue Hardship, Egregious - RO can't levy again until the Equivalent CDP hearing takes place - FOIA request filed for admin/mgr file.

New @budgetlab.bsky.social report about today's tariff announcement:
• The April 2nd policy alone is the equivalent of an 11.5pp increase in the effective tariff rate. When combined with other US tariffs in 2025, we're at 22 1/2%, the highest rate since 1909.

Republicans have signaled their intent to break all budget rules in the Senate by inventing their own cost estimates on the spot.
This would be many steps towards nuking the filibuster - and you may as well repeal the entire Congressional Budget Act at that point.
