…I’m genuinely surprised more people don’t consider them when replacing older vehicles. Day-to-day driving of 80km or less, and they’re no different than full BEV’s.

As well, there’s no long-range driving range anxiety. (Well, no more than with a standard ICE vehicle).

Honestly, she’s gonna have to NOT charge for a few days so as to burn off the remaining gas before it “goes bad.”

With her former car she was spending about $250-$275 per month in gas

I maintain that PHEV’s are “cheat codes”…

The wife’s PHEV (Toyota) purchased in late July 2024 still has 2/3’s of the original tank of gas purchased with the car nearly 6,300km later. On her regular commute (about 70-to-80 km per day, depending on which route she takes to/from work; traffic dependent) the engine never comes on.
